My Lady Jane

At sixteen, Lady Jane Grey is about to be married off to a stranger and caught up in a conspiracy to rob her cousin, King Edward, of his throne. But those trifling problems aren’t for Jane to worry about. Jane gets to be Queen of England.

Like that could go wrong.

My Review

This was a great light and fluffy read merged together with a little fantasy and comedy. I thought this was going to be a corny little love story that I would have regretted picking up but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Jane was a rock star!  Jane was not interested in goo goo eye love, she just wanted to be left alone with her books. Having to marry someone she didn’t know was not at the top of her to do list. Gifford or G as he liked to be called was a Edian, which meant he could shape shift into a specific animal. The problem is that Edian are not accepted in this world. With Gifford only being ale to change during the day he left Jane in many peculiar situations. Edward on the other hand is the king but he is dying and just needs someone to take his place. He chose his favorite cousin Jane even though he has other siblings to choose from.

I rarely find myself laughing out loud at books but I can add this one to the list. This was an easy 5 out of five stars because it’s an enjoyable read where at no point did I feel like I had to “push through”.
